Q & A with Daree from Kickin’ It With Daree and C’mon Son
When did you start podcasting?

Why did you start podcasting?
I was very soon to become certified in life coaching, and wanted to share my thoughts and lessons on personal development for women and teen girls, which is the same audience as my first two books.
What’s the name of your show and what is it about?
Kickin’ it with Daree is a place where my guests and I share real stories and insights about everyday life, relationships and internal struggles.
Last fall I started a second show with my little sister, The C’mon Son Podcast with Daree & Daj, where we talk about any and everything that matters to us in our world.
What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.
I became a voice actor the year after I started my podcast, so my studio has evolved in the past 5 years.
I currently use a large diaphragm Sennheiser microphone, but started with a Blue Yeti.
I also use a Scarlett Focusrite interface and I alternate between Audacity, Audition and RX7 Standard software depending on what part of my workflow I’m in.
If I am recording with someone, I have used other services in the past, but now use Cleanfeed.
I used to have a WordPress site, but switched to SquareSpace a few years ago because it’s simpler for me to update (no plugins to worry about).
How have you promoted your podcast?
I only use social media to share my show episodes, with links back to my website.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
You don’t have to have all the answers. Just start, and learn as you go. Your tribe will find you.
