Q & A with Loronda from Peeling Back The Layers of Your Life and Loronda Inspires Greatness

When did you start podcasting?

I released my first episode on January 1, 2019.

Why did you start podcasting?

I started podcasting because I wanted to give people hope.

Oftentimes we have dreams, goals, and desires we want to achieve but we’re hindered by layers that keep us stuck.  I wanted to interview people from across the globe who are doing great things in the world despite the layers they had to peel.

What’s the name of your show and what is it about?

I have 2 podcasts:

PODCAST #1

Peeling Back the Layers of Your Life® podcast is a place where ordinary people go to reveal their greatness.  Host Loronda C. Giddens interviews ordinary people who become extraordinary when they share their greatness with the world.

It’s a conversational style format that gives guests a comfortable space to share how they transformed their life to reveal their greatness.

Layers are anything hindering you from getting to your next level of greatness.  Layers can be guilt, shame, fear, anger, self-doubt, procrastination, mommy issues, daddy issues, lack of confidence, feelings of unworthiness, or money issues.

The list goes on and on.  Regardless of the layers, we have to begin peeling and healing.

PODCAST #2

Loronda Inspires Greatness podcast gives listeners a quick pop of inspiration to brighten their day.

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.

I use an HP laptop along with Zoom Conferencing to record my interviews.  I don’t use the video feature because I like the flexibility that audio affords.  I have an internationally syndicated podcast, and with the time difference it can be challenging to be camera ready at 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning.  I use a pair of standard Sony headphones that has a microphone attached.  For editing, I use Audacity and Media IO to convert the files.

How have you promoted your podcast?

I promote my podcast using Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.  I’m also a part of podcast groups on Facebook and have opportunities weekly to promote as well.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

I wish I would’ve known more about the editing process. Initially, it took up my entire day to edit one episode.  I do everything myself and have learned how to cut down on the time it takes to edit.
