When did you start Queer News?
November 2009.
Why did you start podcasting?
To tell the stories I believe deserve to be heard. Those of the underrepresented are especially close to my heart.
What’s the name of your show and what is it about?
Queer News. It’s an intersectional approach to daily news where race and sexuality meet politics, entertainment and culture. Tune-in to reporting which centers and celebrates all of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & comrade communities, 7 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
What’s your podcast setup?
I use a Shure Mv7 mic, my Mac mini, Bose headphones, Audacity for editing, WordPress and Pretty Links for the site.
How have you promoted Queer News?
I leverage TikTok, Instagram and our email lists.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I wish I knew how to monetize my work outside of just advertising dollars.
