Dear Podcast Creator,
Below are some updates we are excited to share with you.
Introducing the Apple Podcasts Web Embed
The new Apple Podcasts embed player offers you a way to showcase your podcast on a website. Visitors can play an episode, browse recently published episodes, and open Apple Podcasts for iOS, iPadOS, or macOS to learn more and subscribe for free.
There are four different sizes of the player and each size will automatically adjust to fit the width of your website.
Plus, Safari can even display the player in Dark Mode to create an immersive experience.
Apple Podcasts embed players are available directly from the Apple Podcasts Preview pages on the web.
Click the share button and “copy embed” is available for either a show or episode, or use Apple Podcasts Marketing Tools.
Two-Factor Authentication
Starting February 2021, additional authentication will be required for all users to sign in to Podcasts Connect. This extra layer of security for your Apple ID helps ensure that you’re the only person who can access your account. If you haven’t already updated your account, you can enable two-step verification or two-factor authentication now in the Security section of your Apple ID account or in the Apple ID section of Settings on your device.
For details on enabling this additional authentication, visit the two-factor authentication support page.
Optimize Your Show for Siri and Alexa
Siri and Alexa can help listeners find and subscribe to your show on Apple Podcasts.
With the availability of the new HomePod mini and the international expansion of Alexa support in additional countries, it’s a great time to optimize your show and episode for voice discovery and playback.
These are some best practices to consider:
- Keep show titles concise. Listeners are more likely to remember a short title.
- Include an tag. This tag defines the the show’s creator name.
Spread the word on your show, or through your marketing channels, like your website or social media accounts, to reach new listeners.
Learn more about how listeners can play your show with Siri or Alexa.
Best regards,
The Apple Podcasts Team
