Q & A with Brian from The Brian Keane Podcast

When did you start podcasting? 

I began in late 2016.

Why did you start podcasting? 

I started my podcast because I wanted to separate my brand from other fitness influencers and to connect with other thoughtful leaders in the health and fitness industry.

What’s the name of your show and what is it about? 

The Brian Keane podcast. I interview leading industry experts in all things health, fitness and mindset.

What’s your podcast set up? 

I use an Audio-Technica microphone and Skype video recorder.

How have you promoted your podcast? 

I use my social media channels like Instagram and Facebook to promote episodes of my podcast.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started? 

I wish I knew that podcast growth is very non linear. 

There were months when I felt like quitting (early on), but then one episode would connect and downloads would jump from people going through the back catalogue of episodes. 

This happened several times during the first 12 months.

How do you stay focused or productive when you don’t want to create content? 

I batch most of my podcasts so I try to record several episodes in one or two days. 

This has worked great for more than two years.

Give us 2 health tips to help podcasters feel good in their body when podcasting? 

Eat nutrient dense food and get quality sleep. 

If you want to work out regularly (3-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes), that will help too. 

I put most of my productivity and focus down to my lifestyle choices. 

If you feel confident in your body, you will feel confident in your mind and that will make you a better podcaster in my opinion.

What is your content plan for 2022? 

The content plans for 2022 is to continue to grow the podcast by bringing on more expert guests. 

We also hope to do more of the dual episodes this coming year, too. 

This is where I interview a guest and then they bring me on their show; after which we both cross promote  on all our channels. 

In the short term, we are planning to do solo episodes that do a deep dive on my new book The Keane Edge: Mastering the Mindset for Real Lasting Fat Loss and help with its promotion during the current launch. The Keane Edge is available for purchase on Amazon.
