Q & A with Brooke & Mindy from REMelations: A Comedy Dream Interpretation Podcast<\/h2>

When did you start podcasting?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

My co-host Brooke and I started chatting about the idea of <\/span>starting a podcast<\/span> on <\/span>the interpretation of dreams<\/span> about a year and a half ago.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We are both Virgos and we like to do our research, so we didn’t want to jump the gun too soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

After a year of researching and learning about podcasting (by admittingly listening to a lot of podcasts about podcasts, including <\/span>The Feed<\/span><\/i>), we finally felt “ready.” We launched our podcast in November 2021.<\/span><\/p>

Why did you start podcasting?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

We are huge <\/span>True Crime podcast <\/span>fans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

However, sometimes real-life creepy stories can begin to bum you out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I started searching for an <\/span>alternative genre <\/span>of shows to listen to which would lighten up my mood after listening to <\/span>serial killer shows<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I have always been a crazy dreamer my whole life, so I started searching to see if there were any fun podcasts about dreams. Nothing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I felt like dreams were an untapped genre that could walk the line between funny and bizarre, scary and nightmare all at the same time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I could <\/span>see the opportunity,<\/span> so I called my best friend Brooke with the idea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Considering Brooke has been the one hearing about my <\/span>crazy dreams<\/span> since we met in high school, we were a natural fit to start this journey together.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

What’s the name of your show and what is it about?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

Our podcast is <\/span>REMelations: A Comedy Dream Interpretation Podcas<\/span><\/i><\/a>t.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We read listeners’ dreams and give our fun, light-hearted, un-expert opinion on what they might mean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

What’s your<\/b> podcast set up<\/b>?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

We co-host and record the show remotely using <\/span>SquadCast.fm<\/span><\/a> with two Samson-Q2u remotes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We edit with Camtasia and host on\u00a0 Libsyn. Our<\/span> website hosting<\/span> is with ShowIt and we publish a <\/span>WordPress blog<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

For social media, we use Canva and Headliner.<\/span><\/p>

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

We’ve started small: telling our friends and family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We have also promoted on our social media channels like <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Facebook<\/span><\/a>, especially in groups about our topic\u2014dreams.<\/span><\/p>

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>

Hard to say since we are still just starting. I would say even if we never make it big, I get to spend hours with my best friend every week and that makes it all worthwhile!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Brooke and Mindy give dream interpretation a comedic twist. Taking their listeners’ dreams and interpreting them in a self titled un-expert opinion. Brooke and Mindy love true crime podcasts but found they needed something to lighten their spirits afterwards. Unable to find what they wanted.
