When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

June 2012<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

Our fan base from YouTube sent us requests to begin doing a podcast show to supplement our videos and allow us to talk more in-depth on a variety of topics.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

Our show<\/a> is focused on the Internet sensation known as \u201cLet\u2019s Play\u201d which fuses video game interactivity by proxy with the personalities, whether informative or humorous, of the people who do them.<\/p>\n

In other words, we talk about people who talk over video games. Also, we talk about video games, too. The show is very loosely structured though, and conversations tend to go just about anywhere.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

We talk remotely via Skype and each record our audio independently using Audacity. We use Blue Yeti microphones to capture our audio. We then edit\/sync the audio files in Audacity and export the final product from there.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

Our YouTube channel, Twitter page, and Facebook fan page.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

We had some positive feedback from our first few episodes since we got to use what we felt were some of our best topics. But after doing over a dozen episodes over a long span of time, it\u2019s easy to unintentionally retread that ground or go into less interesting derails.<\/p>\n

Repeating content can be frustrating for listeners who want newer content. So what we\u2019ve learned is that while it\u2019s fun to just go in without a gameplan, it\u2019s really better to stay at least a little organized, focused, and have a feel for what we want to talk about before hitting record.<\/p>\n
