When did you <\/b>start podcasting<\/b>?<\/b><\/h3>\n

I started my podcast over four years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

What made you think about <\/b>starting a podcast<\/b>?<\/b><\/h3>\n

As an indie Jewish Orthodox female singer\/composer, I had little to no market for my music.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s the name of your show and what is it about?<\/b><\/h3>\n

My podcast is called The Franciska Show. I started it as a platform to interview other women in the Jewish Orthodox arts and entertainment scene. I have learned so much. Over the last two years, I broadened my topics to give a voice to so many taboo issues in the Jewish Orthodox community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcast set-up?\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

I use the ATR2100, the USB connection (I know it’s not as ideal as XLR) to my Mac.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I record my interviews via ZOOM and I edit in descript. I’m always trying out new mics, software programs and plugins. So ask me in a month, I might be back on LogicPro.<\/span><\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/b><\/h3>\n

I promote my podcast wherever I go, and of course, all over social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Instagram<\/span><\/a>, Facebook, <\/span>LinkedIn<\/span><\/a>, Whatsapp, TikTok, <\/span>YouTube<\/span><\/a> and I just joined <\/span>Twitter<\/span><\/a> this week. Groups and Emails are phenomenal, too.<\/span><\/p>\n

I create clips, video and audiograms, as well as play with reels, stories and long written posts to spread the word.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/b><\/h3>\n

When I started out, I just promoted on <\/span>IG<\/span><\/a> and FB<\/a>. When you’re at the beginning, choose 1 or 2 platforms and stay consistent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember, podcasting is your primary platform of content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know now that when there is passion and commitment, the podcast allows for the magic to do its thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lacking even one of these is cause to reevaluate, maybe consider a relaunch or a pivot.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s what I did. And it’s okay.<\/span><\/p>\n
