Q & A with Cynthia Sanchez from Oh So Pinteresting<\/h2>\n

When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

After years of listening to podcasts, I launched my own February 20, 2013.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

It was a podcast that encouraged me to launch a blog that turned in to a business.<\/p>\n

I recognized how powerful a podcast could be to help people learn while on the go.<\/p>\n

They have helped me a tremendous amount and I continue to learn from and be entertained by them every day.<\/p>\n

In 2012 I met Rob Walch and he gave me a nudge to start a podcast but at the time I was overwhelmed and nervous that a podcast about a specific topic like I write about would be a complete failure.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m happy to say he was right and I was wrong.<\/p>\n

This past January, at a conference, I met a lot of podcasters and bloggers from different backgrounds. There was some real interest in learning more about Pinterest for social media marketing.<\/p>\n

A few people really encouraged me to take the leap into podcasting, so I did!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

I focus on bringing information to people to help them use Pinterest to grow their business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Most of the shows are interviews with people from different niches or backgrounds who use Pinterest in unique ways.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s my hope that the listeners will get ideas from the people I interview in how they can incorporate Pinterest inter their marketing strategy to help grow their business.<\/p>\n

It serves as an extension of my blog and each week I include a quick Pinterest tip that is a how to use or maximize a function of Pinterest.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

My podcasting set up is very basic I use a USB microphone, Skype and Garageband.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve used both the Blue Yeti and the Audio-Technica ATR2100.<\/p>\n

Sometimes recording from Skype can be a challenge with Soundflower and LineIn but I\u2019m on the hunt for alternatives that will make it a smoother process.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure if I\u2019m ready to take the leap into a mixer quite yet.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

I promote my podcast any time I can without being obnoxious. Mainly, I promote it on my blog and on social media.<\/p>\n

When I have a speaking engagement, I include it in my bio and if the situation is right, I\u2019ll bring it up at networking events.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

I wish I had taken some time to learn more about the editing software before I jumped in.<\/p>\n

I was so concerned about the interview and getting the episodes recorded that I didn\u2019t think much about the editing part.<\/p>\n

The first few episodes took me forever to edit in GarageBand.<\/p>\n

I was watching YouTube videos as I went along. It\u2019s getting better but I\u2019m sure there are a lot of features of GarageBand that I don\u2019t know how to use yet.<\/p>\n
