When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve been dabbling since 2005, but I went professional in 2011.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I was inspired by some early adopters, like Ricky Gervais and I really loved the tech-side of podcasting. I studied audio production and I decided I wanted to be a podcaster.<\/p>\n

I think it has potential as an industry and I want to be a part of it. I\u2019ve worked in radio before and it feels like they\u2019ve forgotten what great things audio can do, where as podcasting is open to every niche imaginable, and if audiences want it then they\u2019ll download it.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m working on my little corner of the podcasting industry and as I grow, so the wide world of podcasting grows too.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

I get a lot of questions about certain things related to podcasting, I thought it was time I answered them once and for all. My podcast answers FAQs<\/a> related to podcasting and podcasting as a content and social media marketing tool for businesses.<\/p>\n

I actually have an upcoming episode where I recommend Libsyn as a hosting platform. I\u2019ve boiled all my answers down to five elements that can be easily understood and digested.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve got a few AT2020s running into a Motu 4Pre. I record everything in Logic Pro on a MackBook Pro. I sometimes record theme music in Propellerhead\u2019s Reason and publish everything through LibSyn.<\/p>\n

I hacked some custom mic-stands out of desk lamps and sewed some custom deadcats.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

I publish every episode to my website<\/a> as well as iTunes<\/a>, Facebook<\/a>, Twitter<\/a>\u00a0and LinkedIn<\/a><\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

When I started I was podcasting for me, and it\u2019s good to love what you\u2019re doing and to have that enthusiasm, but eventually I learned to respond to feedback.<\/p>\n

I started shaking up the format of my podcasts, after a while they grew to be much better shows.<\/p>\n

Now I try to regularly change the format of my shows or introduce a new feature every quarter, it helps to keep things fresh and keep hosts and listeners excited and interested in the podcast.<\/p>\n
