Q & A with Matt from The Koops Podcast<\/h2>\n

When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I started The Koops Podcast<\/a> in October, this year. \u00a0So far there have been seven episodes, so it\u2019s still a very new program. \u00a0I\u2019ve had the chance to speak with some amazing people, with some terrific stories, and I\u2019m excited to keep bringing more stories of people\u2019s lives and experiences – with a distinct slant towards humor and hubris!<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I am fascinated with the idea of communication. \u00a0We have to listen to other people\u2019s stories to learn anything, and that is pretty much the theme of the podcast – it is listening to other\u2019s stories that allows us to learn and grow as people. \u00a0Given half a chance, just about anyone is happy to talk about themselves and\/or their opinions – this podcast is entirely devoted to others.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s all about the story. \u00a0Some episodes focus on a person\u2019s life, and the wonderful experiences contained therein, others about knowledge, and the dissemination of information. \u00a0Sharing stories and sharing experiences.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

As a complete technophobe, I try to keep it as simple as possible – this helps with portability and cuts down on the things that can wrong.<\/p>\n

Everything is built around Bossjock Studio in my iPad2. \u00a0This is a fantastic app that allows me to use carts when I need to add music or other samples on the fly, and makes managing the recording very simple.<\/p>\n

I use Shure SM58 microphones, a Behringer UCA222 soundcard that connects my Soundcraft Compact 4 to my iPad, AKG k240 headphones. \u00a0For my post-production (compression only) I use StudioOne.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

There is a Facebook page<\/a> for the podcast, a Twitter account,<\/a> plus I have added the podcast to a couple of podcast directories: Podfeed, OzPod, etc. \u00a0No other promotion apart from word-of-mouth.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

I know very little, even now! \u00a0I\u2019m not knowledgable enough to know what I didn\u2019t know then!<\/p>\n
