This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n My team and I began podcasting in October 2013.<\/p>\n The four of us (hosts) have been regularly arguing about the English Premier League for at least a decade. Not many Americans loved football (soccer) then, but many more do now. So this fall we decided it was time to let the rest of the world in the door to\u00a0argue\u00a0with us.<\/p>\n English Premier League football is quickly growing in popularity since NBC took over the televising rights in America.\u00a0We\u2019ve built a very engaged community of crazy, football fanatics like us that love football banter.<\/p>\n Our show, Across The Pond<\/a> focuses on the English Premier League covering the results, the feats, the controversy (there\u2019s plenty), the history, and the everything between the lines – all from an American standpoint.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a very obscure topic to many but we have a loyal cult following. If you\u2019re interested in learning about the Premier League, I would give us a try.<\/p>\n We\u2019re very lucky to record out of a radio station in Washington, DC. Our primary equipment is listed below:<\/p>\n Hardware: Software: Initially we promoted through word of mouth but soon found that we needed to discover ways to grow our audience. Twitter<\/a> has been a great help in growing our community.<\/p>\n We\u2019ve developed an engaged following and have even met some of our notable guests through Twitter (e.g. members of ESPN and USAToday). It\u2019s crazy how powerful Twitter can be. We\u2019ve also utilized Twitter\u2019s targeted and promoted campaigns to boost our reach amongst potential listeners.<\/p>\n Another medium we\u2019ve explored to help promote our podcast is through merchandise. Although costly, merchandise has helped promote our show in interesting ways.<\/p>\n Merchandise can be costly but we\u2019re currently in the process of partnering with a sponsor to help reduce the initial costs. Please visit our store<\/a> if you\u2019re interested in what we offer.<\/p>\n If we had the gift of foresight, we definitely would have been spending less time editing and instead, releasing episodes much faster.<\/p>\n We live in a very transitional society and with a podcast like ours (where we\u2019re constantly talking about the topic of the day), if we don\u2019t release our show within a day of recording, we\u2019re already old news.<\/p>\n Our producer, Ellen, likes to call these outdated episodes \u201cmoldy.\u201d<\/p>\n On the flip-side, we take a lot of pride in our production quality. We\u2019ve become much more efficient in producing episodes because everyone is constantly improving.<\/p>\n Our hosts are more organized, we understand each other\u2019s speech patterns and realize when we\u2019re talking too much (but sometimes you can\u2019t help it!). Improvements amongst our hosts has led to a less cumbersome editing experience for our producers.<\/p>\n And one last thing. We would\u2019ve created a website from day one if we\u2019d had known how important it is for listeners.<\/p>\n Not everyone has iTunes.<\/p>\n Not everyone has Stitcher.<\/p>\n It\u2019s important to have a central destination for people when they want to listen to your show but don\u2019t know how.<\/p>\n But that\u2019s the beauty of podcasting. We\u2019re learning how to improve our show everyday and hope you\u2019ll give us a listen.<\/p>\n If you have ANY interest at all in the English Premier League, Across The Pond will fit you just right.
