This series is all about Libsyn\u2019s podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Although I\u2019ve been listening to podcasts since 2008, it wasn\u2019t until August 2014 that I began producing my first podcast.<\/p>\n It was just approved by iTunes on November 20.<\/p>\n I have a degree in Broadcast Journalism but ended up releasing 3 novels and 2 music albums.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t until late August I saw a post on Facebook for MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network).<\/p>\n It\u2019s the cable access channel and they were holding an orientation to have a program on the station.<\/p>\n When I saw this post it immediately rekindled an old dream to have my own talk show. A music interview talk show.<\/p>\n Shortly thereafter, I came up with idea to put together a companion podcast.<\/p>\n Since you have to be certified on MNN equipment before you can produce a show, I knew that I would be able to start producing my podcast immediately.<\/p>\n The intent of Talk Music Talk<\/a> is to have long form conversations with musicians, journalists, etc to talk about music from all genres.<\/p>\n The shows I\u2019ve recorded so far have been with a street performer, the finance of late comedian Patrice O\u2019Neal, out indie singer songwriter Eric Himan and Susan Fast, author of the 33 1\/3 book on Michael Jackson\u2019s Dangerous album.<\/p>\n I use all the equipment that Dave Mansueto (we were in an artist collective when I lived in Pittsburgh\u2013my hometown) recommended on the post Son of Frankenskype including:<\/p>\n Since it just came out I\u2019ve been focusing on social media and the efforts of my guests promoting to their audience. It\u2019s only been a few months\u00a0but the response to the first 3 shows has been really positive.<\/p>\n The first day of promoting I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole prospect of promoting and it wasn\u2019t until one of my guests contacted me after listening to his interview.<\/p>\n He was so happy with the results that it reminded me what has to be my first focus\u2013creating a show I\u2019m happy with and that reflects the best of my guests.<\/p>\n It may be too soon to answer this effectively.<\/p>\n But I do wish I started promoting prior to the release of the podcast.<\/p>\n How\u2019s about some killer conversation with some musical artists?
