When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I did a trial run through Blog Talk Radio a couple of years ago, but I stopped when I realised that they like to own your content.<\/p>\n

When people kept telling me they were still listening to those shows (2 years later!!) I knew it was time to start a real podcast. So I launched The Adventurous Creator about a month ago.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I wanted to have the conversations that no-one else is having.<\/p>\n

People keep telling me there is something about my voice and the way I explain things.<\/p>\n

Being primarily a writer, I was seeking a different outlet, preferably one that didn\u2019t require hair and makeup everyday. Podcasting was the obvious choice!!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

Creating your ideas\u2026 being creative. Allowing ease into your creative space.<\/p>\n

What if the adventure of creating is about going beyond where you\u2019ve been?<\/p>\n

What if writer\u2019s block is a myth? What if procrastination doesn\u2019t exist? What if your 50 seemingly unrelated ideas could become\u00a0one brilliant project? What if there is no \u2018creative block\u2019 that cannot be changed\u00a0if you are willing to play with new possibilities?<\/p>\n

What inspiration can you receive?<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

Oh wow\u2026 it\u2019s definitely still evolving!<\/p>\n

I am so clear that I desire better quality everything (not a perfectionist at all!!)<\/p>\n

I am hosted via Libsyn. I record via Skype or free conference call HD using a CAD U1 mic. Do my audio edits in Garageband.<\/p>\n

I learn something new every week!! This is the part that is the trickiest for me. For a long while it stopped me completely as none of it made sense\u2026 grateful for the She Podcasts group in finding out all of the info I needed to start!<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

So far – in my Love Notes to my email list, on social media, via Soundcloud and iTunes, via my guests. I am going to play with QR codes on Moo cards soon too!<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

It takes more time than I imagined. I\u2019m in the midst of setting up systems so I can outsource everything except the actual interviews and show recordings. I wish I\u2019d had a simple but comprehensive checklist of what pieces needed to be set up in which order.<\/p>\n
