This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n August of 2014<\/p>\n I have always had a love for talk radio and then podcasts.<\/p>\n When Steve and I started doing standup shows together and got to be friends we would have these fun and entertaining chats before and after.<\/p>\n We realized that it would be selfish for us to keep all this good stuff to ourselves. Plus it is a great excuse to have some whiskey and chat for an hour while the wives think we are \u201cworking\u201d<\/p>\n Barrel Proof Comedy podcast<\/a> is all about two comedians tasting a different whiskey each week. Usually we digress into pop culture discussions that were relevant 25 years ago, upcoming standup shows, experience at previous shows, parenthood, and oh yeah more whiskey.<\/p>\n We started with the ZOOM H4N but upgraded to the Zoom 6!<\/p>\n It is amazing!<\/p>\n We use Shure SM58 mics on boom stands and record right to it.<\/p>\n Audacity and Levelator (both free and work great for our needs!) made the show sound pretty.<\/p>\n Mostly Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n We also are trying to navigate the world of Reddit.<\/p>\n We put \u201cTeaser\u201d clips on Youtube.<\/p>\n We produce and perform in stand-up shows locally and try to get the podcast in every chance we get.<\/p>\n The big headline shows are \u201cSponsored\u201d by our podcast and we play a promo clip when the lights go down to start the show.<\/p>\n I am still trying to figure out metadata.<\/p>\n I wish that I would have built more of that into the description and show titles from the beginning.<\/p>\n It seems that unless you know the name of the show, it is pretty hard to find us on iTunes.<\/p>\n I probably would have designed the logo a little differently so that it fills up more of the space (also on my to-do list)<\/p>\n Are you ready for some fun?
