This series is all about Libsyn\u2019s podcasters. It\u2019s sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n We launched the project in November of 2015, but we had been working to put it together for almost a year.\u00a0 Our project is a vast subject and we wanted to prepare our research for the main narrative, and lay the foundation for our other shows associated with the project.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve been a podcast listener for many years and love the format, especially the produced \u201ctheater of the mind\u201d type!<\/p>\n When I first conceived the Rock N Roll Archaeology Project<\/a>, I first thought of it of as a podcast, with the potential to be transposed to other media in the future.\u00a0 I felt podcasting was an excellent \u201clow barrier to entry\u201d format to produce the concept, prove it worked and to build a portable audience.<\/p>\n The Rock N Roll Archaeology Project<\/a> is about the latter half of the 20th century through the lens of Rock N Roll.\u00a0 We take music, culture and technology and discuss the feedback loops created and how they drastically changed our world.<\/p>\n I use a Heil PR40 microphone, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 external sound card & Adobe Audition CC for recording & editing.\u00a0 There is a bit of production to our show, so after everything is assembled, I work with a professional audio engineer to master before the release of each episode.<\/p>\n We have beat the drums on subscribing, rating and reviewing, run FB promoted posts & ads, A Twitter<\/a> promoted post or 2 and the rest has been organic word of mouth.<\/p>\n Once we settle on a sponsor or 2 – we will focus on more contests, giveaways and promotions to engage the listeners.<\/p>\n Well first, I think I got lucky by picking a subject that I was both passionate and educated about!\u00a0 That got me a long way! And since I\u2019m a musician, I was pretty familiar with the hardware and software needed for start-up.<\/p>\n Growing an audience from the ground up and learning the in\u2019s and out\u2019s of podcast services took time and effort, but certainly Libsyn has been a great resource.\u00a0 Being a data hound, I was excited to watch our growth on a daily basis using the Libsyn tools.<\/p>\n If I had one wish, it would be that I could put out a show every day!\u00a0 But I\u2019ve now assembled the beginnings of a team around me and we might get to that in the not too distant future.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been lucky in that all of our reviews have been stellar, but that also creates more demand for our content.\u00a0 I should\u2019ve had five shows ready from the get go!<\/p>\n Love Rock N Roll?
