This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Version one of the podcast started back in 2009 when we were in college.<\/p>\n That lasted for a few years until life happened and the show ended.<\/p>\n At a friend\u2019s wedding over too many beers we were reliving how fun it was to do the podcast, so we agreed to do a comeback show.<\/p>\n Well, one turned to two and before we knew it the Chip and Cern Show<\/a> was back!<\/p>\n We were always\u00a0thick as\u00a0thieves\u00a0so plenty of stories, tall tales and life experiences came from years of being friends starting in high school.<\/p>\n Chip thought it would be fun to try out podcasting because he was a fan of traditional radio and Cern was a big fan of Adam Carolla who recently just launched his own podcast.<\/p>\n So we got some mics, some beers and got the show started.<\/p>\n We always struggle with this question.<\/p>\n We don\u2019t have a set tag line or format that we follow, so our show is whatever we want it to be that episode.<\/p>\n In some episodes there is a topical event like the olympics, or Pokemon Go and sometimes it is a show with our friends on where we are\u00a0reminiscing\u00a0on our misspent youth.<\/p>\n Mics we use: Audio Technica AT2020 with Rode PSA 1 mic arms. Shure SM7B is on our wish list for the next upgrade.<\/p>\n Mixer we use a\u00a0Behringer Xenyx 1204USB<\/p>\n DWA we use Logic Pro X<\/p>\n CMS we use Squarespace<\/p>\n Our logo was designed by Michael Spiegel Design<\/a><\/p>\n Cern built a custom broadcasting desk for the podcast room at his house. His very talented wife painted our logo on the wall.<\/p>\n We are pretty scrappy when it comes to promotion.<\/p>\n We have found a great community\u00a0with\u00a0the Libsyn Feed and\u00a0other Libsyn users.<\/p>\n We have a few super fans who we gave tshirts, hats and stickers to who are great for getting the word out at work, softball and everywhere in between!<\/p>\n Chip: Audio quality really matter. Noisy fan in the room, bad mic presence and stammers, ums and ahhs really throw a wrench in for listeners. Even if you record a few shows with no intent to publish it will help get you more comfortable being on mic and working through the issues.<\/p>\n Cern: I would say\u00a0a little more organization, focus, and topic selection. It took us a few shows to really get dialed in where we are today.
