This series is all about libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n November 2nd, 2013 was the first time we ever recorded. I had the episode out 7 days later after a ton of editing.<\/p>\n I honestly thought that my voice and that of my friends was something worth sharing.<\/p>\n We always thought of ourselves as reasonably bright people with a kind of no nonsense take on the world and I thought that would resonate with some listeners.<\/p>\n The Brainstorm Podcast<\/a> is mainly, skepticism and critical thinking.<\/p>\n We\u2019re a panel of 5 or 6 members who do news, educational topics, and interviews related to atheism and religion as well as pseudoscience, the supernatural, and pretty much anywhere that someone is making unsupported claims or claims that defy logic or go counter to the consensus of scientific evidence.<\/p>\n This is not my area of expertise. I have some gear of my own but The Brainstorm Podcast is done in a real studio with a real audio tech.<\/p>\n As a result, we have great sound but none of us actually know much about the gear side of things.<\/p>\n I know that Dave (our audio guy) uses all Mac computers and Garage band, for the recording.<\/p>\n Almost every way that I can think of.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve appeared on other podcasts, I\u2019ve had guests promote our show on theirs, I\u2019ve paid for Facebook advertising, I\u2019ve done word of mouth, I\u2019ve handed business cards to strangers, and I\u2019ve even had contests for listeners to win t-shirts if we hit a certain download number within a week.<\/p>\n We even held our province\u2019s first ever atheist and skeptic conference in April and that was under the Brainstorm Podcast banner and our logo was all over the place.<\/p>\n I wish I had started off with Libsyn instead of the service we started with.<\/p>\n I also kind of wish we had known the benefits of going live earlier.<\/p>\n Other than that, I think we needed the learning curve that we had so that we could produce the show we have now.<\/p>\n We still make a ton of mistakes and are learning but I think we\u2019ve basically learned how to produce a good show.<\/p>\n Are you interested in religion, atheism, pseudoscience and\/or everything in between?
