This series is all about libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I started recording Scattered Curiosities<\/a> towards the end of 2016 and launched on iTunes in May of 2017.<\/p>\n Having done some commercial Voice Over work in the past and freelancing as an Avid certified Pro Tools Operator for a small production office, podcasting seemed like a natural endeavor for me to stumble upon.<\/p>\n I was originally making a Voice Over Demo that I was planning to send out to Audible and other services that offer audiobooks.<\/p>\n I had read a chapter of Game of Thrones, some Children\u2019s Books, and a Chapter from one of my Pro Tools text books and found myself getting so bored with it. PLUS, all of the time put into recording and editing it would only allow me to send clippings to casting directors.<\/p>\n I couldn\u2019t release any of it publicly because I didn\u2019t own any of the material. So I decided I would create my own content that I could share and just use clips of that for my VO reel.<\/p>\n I am a huge fan of Dan Carlin\u2019s Hardcore History Podcast and Malcolm Gladwell\u2019s Revisionist History Podcast and wanted to try something similar.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t mistake me, these guys are giant geniuses compared to anything I do and I don\u2019t mean to compare myself to them at all, but they are my influences and I think anyone that is familiar with them will find that in Scattered Curiosities.<\/p>\n This is how I describe the show on the website:<\/p>\n \u201cWhat if we told you Bartholomew Columbus, Jerome Bonaparte and Kermit Roosevelt were all real people?<\/p>\n Did you know that there is a direct link between Napoleon Bonaparte and tin cans?<\/p>\n Thomas Jefferson and barbed wire? John Travolta and Forrest Gump?<\/p>\n Dive into the rabbit hole of history\u2019s obscure facts and unique narratives with host Albort Einstone as he connects the dots between past and present. Join us for a hearty dose of Scattered Curiosities.\u201d<\/p>\n I try to find some of the facts you haven\u2019t heard about things you know about. I\u2019m recording from my Manhattan apartment using a Sterling condenser mic inside of a Kaotica Eyeball, which is amazing at keeping a lot of unwanted city noise (car horns, alarms, sirens and the blasted Ice Cream Man) out of my shows recorded into a Pro Tools 11 set up.<\/p>\n Mine is not an interview show, per se, but future episodes may include that format. I\u2019ve been experimenting with methods for recording a phone interview and have met some success with a pricey $10 app called TapeACall. I\u2019m not thrilled with the quality and am exploring other options.<\/p>\n Email, texts, Facebook, Twitter and submitting the feed to as many directories as I can get myself on. You wouldn\u2019t believe how hard it is to get anyone to give you a supportive click. That I don\u2019t have to edit every single breath I take.<\/p>\n I started out way ahead before the late May launch of the show, but I got so picky with taming big breaths that it would take a week to edit a full length episode.<\/p>\n Recently I had to send something off to a friend and was unable to give it that detailed of an edit, and it sounded completely fine.
