When and why did you start podcasting?<\/b><\/h3>\n

Started podcasting in July 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

We started podcasting because one of our hosts, Drew, wanted to do something creative and fun outside of his broadcasting career that he could have creative control over.<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s your show about?\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Our show is about two lifelong friends exploring the tastes of their home state, Wisconsin<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Every week we try a different WI based beer or coffee. We give a background on the type of brew, brewery, and give our opinion of the taste. We then let the conversation take us to places we don’t know are coming. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once a month, we bring a “Strange Brew” episode where we focus on a paranormal topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

Right now, we use Cool Edit Pro to record into on a basic laptop. We use a small Behringer USB mixer and Shure sm58 mics to record into Cool Edit. We do some sound processing, we hard limit and then normalize, after we record to bring equal levels.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/b><\/h3>\n

For promotion, we have done cross-promotion with other podcasts. We also have tapped into some Facebook ads. <\/span><\/p>\n

Every week we post into a Podcast Subreddit with our latest episode info. <\/span><\/p>\n

Our show does have a Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and Untappd account. Untappd is a microbrew app where you rate various beers and add specific beers you have had. Every week we update our list with the latest beer we had from the newest episode.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

We wish we knew more about the promotion process and how to get the word out. We have seen some improvement but it’s something we are still working on.<\/span><\/p>\n
