This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I started podcasting in November 2017 around the Thanksgiving holiday. I figured I\u2019d give myself to the world, so the world could give thanks for me.<\/p>\n To be honest, I usually become so bored with 98% of day to day conversations, in which I am a participant or an overhearing victim.<\/p>\n I\u2019d constantly say to my husband that I have better conversations in my own head. Yes, I only have one voice inside of my head, at one time; but, the tone can change depending on my mood.<\/p>\n In addition, my family tells me that even though I am telling the truth, I say the craziest and funniest things.<\/p>\n Since I have an engrossing personality, I decided some form of entertainment would suit me very well. I don\u2019t have a media background and I am too old to be an intern. So, my brilliance kicked in and a podcast came to mind.<\/p>\n When I set my mind to something, I make it happen. I did the research and here I am today.<\/p>\n My show is called I\u2019m Difficult & Demanding Podcast<\/a>. I am keeping it real, uncensored and shooting between the eyes.<\/p>\n It is an explicit comedy podcast. I GIVE honesty with a TINY bit of wit, while solely focusing on current events. I BRING insight into the RIDICULOUS SCHEMEs in the news and the world we live in today.<\/p>\n I use an Apple laptop, GarageBand, a mic, and a pop filter. To bring the mic to nose\/lip level, I use a shoebox and a book. That is my real success secret- box and a book.<\/p>\n I have used social media: FaceBook<\/a>, Twitter<\/a>, and Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n First off, if I knew then what I know now, then I\u2019d probably not have a podcast.<\/p>\n This adventure started off as a duo, within a month my cohost lost interest.<\/p>\n He didn\u2019t appreciate the commitment necessary to building a listening base.<\/p>\n A listening base requires reliability, consistency, and continuity.<\/p>\n He thought that since a lot of people aren\u2019t listening then it\u2019s no big deal to skip a week.<\/p>\n Also, when I listened to the earlier duo episodes, I realized I was the star. I was carrying the show. How do you tell your cohost they\u2019re not so great?<\/p>\n I am no expert; but, I\u2019d give evident feedback. He wasn\u2019t as receptive. So, when it came time to record our next episode, he was uncooperative.<\/p>\n That\u2019s when I decided this isn\u2019t going to work and I was going solo. I didn\u2019t know how but I was going to make it happen.<\/p>\n I have learned to pivot swiftly. Finally, to be a solo host is challenging. To be good, you have to balance your vulnerability as a host and deliver on what you\u2019ve promised as a show.<\/p>\n When you notice an area of improvement, you\u2019ve got to fix. My focus is building a brand from the ground up. So, all missteps must be corrected immediately.<\/p>\n Get yourself some real. Get yourself some unplugged.
