Google even has written their own set of guidelines for Podcasts, but it boils down to two important details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A valid RSS feed<\/li>\n<li>A link to your RSS feed on your website<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are hosting with Libsyn, you already have access to a fully valid and compatible podcast RSS feed. Now, you just need to link that feed to your website.<\/p>\n<h3>Using the Libsyn Podcast Page<\/h3>\n<p>If you are utilizing Libsyn\u2019s Podcast Page, rest assured that the page is already optimized for this functionality. To make full use of the option, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log into your Libsyn Dashboard<\/li>\n<li>Select Settings \u2013&gt; Show Settings<\/li>\n<li>In the Website field, enter your website URL<\/li>\n<li>Hit Save<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pro Tip<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Make sure to enter the full website address:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.mywebsiteisawesome.com<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to include \u2018www\u2019 if you traditionally use it with your site.<\/p>\n<h3>Using Your Own Website<\/h3>\n<p>You should always link to your feed on your home page of your site so that potential listeners can select your feed and use it to subscribe using whatever app they wish.<\/p>\n<p>But, a special link should also be used:<\/p>\n<p><code>&lt;link rel=\"alternate\" type=\"application\/rss+xml\" title=\"YOUR PODCAST NAME\" href=\"https:\/\/yourfeedurl.libsyn.com\/rss\" \/&gt;<\/code><\/p>\n<p>For example, this code would look like this for Libsyn\u2019s podcast The Feed:<\/p>\n<p><code>&lt;link rel=\"alternate\" type=\"application\/rss+xml\" title=\"The Feed: The Official Libsyn Podcast | Podcast Strategy |  Podcasting Tips | Media Hosting\" href=\"http:\/\/thefeed.libsyn.com\/rss\"&gt;<\/code><\/p>\n<p>We recommend placing this line of code in the header of your site (in between the <code>&lt;head&gt;<\/code> and <code>&lt;\/head&gt;<\/code> tags). How this is done will depend on how your site is built, and the template you are using.
