This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I started podcasting back in college in 2012. I\u2019m nervous to admit this but my first podcast was called \u201cSolid Rock\u201d and we had a segment called \u201cBieber News of the Week\u201d. I started my most recent podcast though in 2017.<\/p>\n I started\u00a0The Bearded Tog<\/a> to help creatives demystify the process that it takes to go from dreaming about running your own business to owning your own business!<\/p>\n I was raised by single mom in a small town and didn\u2019t really know what I wanted to do. I had been kicked out of college, yet through hard work and dumb luck I was able to start a sustainable six-figure wedding photography business in Washington DC.<\/p>\n The name of my podcast is called\u00a0The Bearded Tog<\/a>! The goal of The Bearded Tog aims to help creative entrepeneurs, side hustlers and photographers, turn their dreams or side-hustles into sustainable thriving businesses.<\/p>\n For my podcasting setup, it\u2019s a little bit extravagant for a self-funded solo show with little support, but I love audio and it\u2019s fun to play with toys!<\/p>\n Microphone: Shure SM7B – Sounds fantastic on a male vocal!<\/p>\n Interface: I started with a Scarlett 2i2 but now use an Apollo Twin MKII<\/p>\n Computer: 6-Core 2013 Mac Pro<\/p>\n Headphones: Audio Technica ATH-M50s<\/p>\n Recording Program: Adobe Audition<\/p>\n CMS: I post my episodes and shownotes on my wordpress blog.<\/p>\n Through high-following guests and finding people looking for answers that my podcast offers, I\u2019ve been able to promote my podcast organically.<\/p>\n Most times, folks like 1 episode with their favorite guest and find more episodes they may enjoy.<\/p>\n One thing I wish I knew when I started podcasting was that \u201cdone is better than perfect\u201d.<\/p>\n It\u2019s easy to get bogged down in pristine audio quality, no \u201cums\u201d or mess ups. You will always have those, but will also get better over time the more you do it.<\/p>\n Plus, listeners want the content! It doesn\u2019t need to sound perfect for people to want it!<\/p>\n Hey!
