This series is all about showcasing Libsyn podcasters. Its sole purpose is to introduce these awesome podcasts to the world as well as share their podcasting insight to empower the community!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n We started collecting field interviews the summer of 2016 and uploaded our first podcast in March of 2017.<\/p>\n There was much to learn and do in advance of that first one\u2013website, hosting research, equipment choices, learning how to edit, etc.<\/p>\n Over the years, we had annual multi-day Vespa rides called \u201cPubScoots\u201d where we found classic pubs, dive bars, and even haunted taverns.<\/p>\n We were looking for a way to share our unique stories and scooter-seat perspective of what we found out there. It was suggested that we try a podcast!<\/p>\n Chasing Ghosts. On Scooters. In Bars.<\/a> We blend the modern scooter lifestyle with a twist of the paranormal over a cool cocktail. Scooter talk, Bar Reviews, and Ghost stories.<\/p>\n Typically, each podcast features a planned and slightly researched scooter ride, a ghost story or two from bartenders, owners, or servers, (Of a haunted bar\/tavern\/restaurant\/hotel), reviews of the bars we went to, an in-studio group discussion and scooter banter\/news, with original music from a local band.<\/p>\n Field interviews are conducted on a Tascam DR40 digital recorder with Audio-Technica ATR2100 mic\u2019s (or even the internal Tascam mics), our studio set-up is surrounded by hanging moving blankets, with four ATR2100 microphones on booms with filters that feed via XLR into a Behringer 1204USB mixer and back to the Tascam DR40.<\/p>\n We edit on Audacity and upload through Auphonic at 14 LUFS (As suggested by The Feed). We have a well-stocked bar and fresh-squeezed juices for our guests.<\/p>\n Aside from word-of-mouth in the scooter community, we regularly post on scooter and light paranormal forums, have a Facebook page<\/a>, Instagram<\/a>, and Twitter.<\/a><\/p>\n We do a few promoted posts on Facebook<\/a> and Instagram<\/a>. We also leave a branded Chasing Ghosts. On Scooters. In Bars. sticker in most of the locations we visit\u2013if a listener finds it and messages us, we offer to buy them a drink!<\/p>\n We have a website with personal bios of the scooter riders\/podcasters and RSS feed from Libsyn. Also, our Podcast Page on Libsyn.com gets a fair amount of action\/downloads.<\/p>\n We are planning to start a group on Facebook later this spring and have just started collecting email address with MailChimp.<\/p>\n While we have always felt that our content was unique and un-duplicated in the market, our audio branding was a little tenuous through the first episodes.<\/p>\n I wish we would have invested more in sound quality sooner with an insulated area and a mixer for multiple people to have a higher quality sound.<\/p>\n We have worked through a lot in the first episodes and now are much happier with our overall sound, but will continue to work to learn and improve all aspects of our production.<\/p>\n Chasing Ghosts!
