Q & A with Nicole from Soul Mammas Podcast<\/h2>\n

When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

For nearly a year! I just launched three weeks ago, but this has been in the works for almost a year \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

Hosting a \u201cradio show\u201d has literally been a dream of mine since I was seven years old. I used to record mock radio shows on my parent\u2019s pink cassette tape and talk for hours.<\/p>\n

This year, I felt it was so important to start this motherhood podcast because as moms sometimes we feel isolated or that our feelings and intricacies aren\u2019t seen or heard.<\/p>\n

New moms, or moms with kids who go off to college, etc., can feel especially vulnerable to negative self-talk, or losing a semblance of their sense of “self.<\/p>\n

Through these inspiring mom interviews, I wanted moms, and parents alike, to believe in their dreams and realize that it is okay to practice self-care-more than okay, it\u2019s essential!!!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your show about?<\/h3>\n

The Soul Mammas podcast<\/a> is all about living passionate, aligned, inspired lives as parents so that we don\u2019t feel pinched off to our true purpose. If we don\u2019t know our true purpose, it is about giving ourselves the space to nurture and find it.<\/p>\n

It is about honoring that it is okay to be a mom or parent AND do or be the thing we love most in the world. It is about living our wildest dreams WITH our little ones in tow.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

The podcast studio I record at uses Shure Mics (SM7), and the ZOOM H6 recorder. I use Audacity software and I do the editing myself. I, of course, use Libsyn to host my show!<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

I have been posting daily on my podcast specific Instagram and FB pages. I use Audio grams a lot for teasers about my show. I have been trying to get it out their word of mouth as much as possible. Press releases have also gone out to a variety of sources locally.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

Just to start! To seriously take one foot in front of the other and just do it. I waited so long perfecting my website and every detail of every little thing.<\/p>\n

I realize now, I was just nervous to really put myself out their and launch it! Now that it is launched, I feel much more clear and confident about the direction of the show and my abilities as a host.<\/p>\n
