Q & A with Jim Ruffatto from The Unloading<\/h2>\n

When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

We (Mary Sandberg, Stephanie Fallara, Pete Zimmerman and myself) started podcasting in June.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

We started podcasting because we all used to work together in commercial radio, and then podcasting.<\/p>\n

Over the last year we all lost our jobs but since we were all friends for so long it was only natural that we do something together, hence our weekly podcast.<\/p>\n

What is your show about?<\/h3>\n

The Unloading<\/a> is really about whatever is going on in our lives. Whatever we\u2019re up to socially, movies we\u2019ve seen, TV shows we like. My wife just had a baby so there was a couple of weeks where we discussed all of that.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

We broadcast on Shure microphones using a Mackie mixer. We record on an iPhone using Fire2 software and then edit in Audacity.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

We\u2019ve mainly promoted our podcast on Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re not just saying this because we\u2019re being featured on the libsyn blog, but going with libsyn right off the bat would have been the wisest thing to do.<\/p>\n

We had no idea how much bandwidth we\u2019d actually be using so the other service we tried wasn\u2019t cost prohibitive.<\/p>\n
