When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

On December 17, 2018. My 42nd birthday. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a massive nerd, and since I\u2019m a firm believer that 42 is \u201cthe answer to life, the universe and everything,\u201d it seemed like the perfect time to do a few things that scared me to death. Like starting a podcast.<\/p>\n

I am super passionate about people living their lives to the fullest, and can\u2019t stand seeing people just march their way through life because that\u2019s what is expected, so I had to do something about it.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

Because I realized I have a whole lot to say and no one reads blogs anymore. And my 16 year old son told me it was time to stop playing so small.<\/p>\n

Not even joking, that was the thing that pushed me over the edge.<\/p>\n

I was driving him to see his girlfriend before he got his license, and telling him about the goals for my newest project. He stopped me and said, \u201cDo you even realize that you REALLY have something here. You need to start a podcast because this is bigger than you think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Which happened to coincide with thoughts I\u2019d already been thinking – but was absolutely too terrified to actually do.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s kinda hard to tell your kids to chase their dreams, and do the opposite, right? So here we are.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the name of your show and what is it about?<\/h3>\n

Just Boldly Go<\/a> – its about finding ways to live life in a bigger, bolder way.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

I have a Blue Yeti microphone, I use Audacity to edit and I publish on Libsyn.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

On FB<\/a>, Insta<\/a> and Twitter<\/a>. Not enough is the actual answer.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

Consistency is so key. And I\u2019m really bad about it.<\/p>\n

Also, I tend to do bite-sized episodes rather than longer ones like I originally planned.<\/p>\n

Life gets so busy, and sometimes I don\u2019t record anything for a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

I hate that it happens, and it would be super easy to just give it up because of my lapse – but I keep doing them as I can, and that\u2019s got to be okay enough for now.<\/p>\n
