When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I started podcasting in July of 2015.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I started podcasting because I wanted to get the word out globally, to the childless not by choice demographic. I wanted them to know that no matter where in the world they were, someone knew and understood their pain.<\/p>\n

I wanted to talk about our plight: we are not being understood or heard as childless not by choice women. And our plan: learn how to live joyful and relevant lives although childless not by choice.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the name of your show and what is it about?<\/h3>\n

The name of my show is Childless not by Choice<\/a>. On my show I do some monologue episodes, and some interview episodes where we discuss living the life of a childless not by choice woman or man. In some societies being childless can be dangerous. Women have been summarily divorced, kicked out of the home they share with their husbands so that husband can bring in another more fertile woman, and even shunned.<\/p>\n

We discuss the emotional and even psychological issues surrounding never having the child or children we so wanted. And we discuss the way we are treated whether we live in the Western world or any other society around the world.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

I have the same setup I started with four years ago: An ATR2100 USB mic plugged into my laptop, a pop filter, all mounted on a boom arm. I use Audacity to record monologue episodes. And I use Zoom to record interviews.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

I promote my episode via most social media channels because I believe although I have a niche audience, the childless not by choice audience is comprised of people of all ages and all social media platform preferences.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?<\/h3>\n

What I wish I knew then that I know now is that this podcasting gig is truly a place for creators to get the word out about their subject matter on a global level. And anything that involves creativity includes dry spells and ups and downs. It can be like having writer\u2019s block! But it\u2019s all worth it!<\/p>\n
