When did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I began podcasting in September 2017.<\/p>\n

Why did you start podcasting?<\/h3>\n

I started podcasting because I was an avid podcast listener with varying opinions.<\/p>\n

I also like being snappy and sassy on social media.<\/p>\n

I was listening to the Black Guy Who Tips and one of the hosts, Rod, said during a feedback show: If you have a lot of opinions and want to share them, you should start a podcast.<\/p>\n

It was like a lightbulb went off in my head.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the name of your show and what is it about?<\/h3>\n

My podcast is called the Mocha Minutes<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

It is a weekly topical show that discusses pop culture, current events, television\/movies, sports, politics, mental health, my social life or whatever else pops into my head.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.<\/h3>\n

I use a Dell laptop and a Blue Snowball USB Mic. For editing, I use Audacity and Levelator.<\/p>\n

How have you promoted your podcast?<\/h3>\n

I have promoted my podcast mostly via social media. I have a Facebook<\/a>, Instagram<\/a> and Twitter<\/a> page for my show.<\/p>\n

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?.<\/h3>\n

That, quite frankly, you have to be the biggest fan and motivation for your show.<\/p>\n

You have to realize your voice matters and that words have power.<\/p>\n

You should never put out a show that you wouldn\u00edt, yourself, listen to.<\/p>\n

Also, never just put out content to put out content. I have watched it backfire on folks. Audiences can tell when your heart is not in it. Always put out content you are proud of.<\/p>\n
