Q & A with Calvin from The Chronicle Z Podcast
When did you start podcasting?
I am a newbie to it so this year is my first official year diving into the podcasting scene and I love it!!
Why did you start podcasting?
I started out doing a little bit of boxing talk on a good friend of mine’s radio show and I have previously talked professional wrestling on another podcast.
After having a great experience with those opportunities I thought about how I also wanted to do something different besides the norm of radio and wanted to be able to express myself freely in which I feel podcasting allows.
A very close friend Daryl Turner was a co-creator of the idea for the podcast and also Lonnie Dangerous who has helped as a great mentor and peer when it comes to entertainment so shout out to those guys for really being a great moral compass and helping me to build a great support system.
As a whole, podcasting seems to have really caught on as a current outlet for everything from current events to entertainment and I definitely wanted to be a part of it and know what I can bring to the table.
What’s your show about?
It’s an Uncensored, Unfiltered & Unbiased look into the world of news, entertainment, music, politics, movies & sports.
Hosted by myself aka “Cuzzo” & Docious, we hope to bring you great conversation and take a little of the stress out of your day.
Nothing is taboo and you never know what topic will be discussed so for the audience please keep in mind that this is a show for adults and does contain language and material appropriate for adults.
There are a lot of issues going on right now and being able to talk about them from both sides of the table and have a good laugh with it I believe can be good for the soul.
I think that it’s really important for the world we live in today.
Originally it was just myself but I’ve had the chance to bring a great co-host Docious in who brings great insight and humor to the show.
Since it is a very political year we are especially going to put emphasis on the 2016 election as well as talk about other topics.
I haven’t gotten a chance to jump into my favorite sport which is boxing but that is definitely coming!!
What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.
I actually record my podcast in a studio in town locally at Mirror studios which has done work for movies, tv shows, music etc. (some of which you have probably seen or heard of) then upload it to my hosting site after I receive the mp3.
I enjoy the recording studio more than doing it myself because I did a little bit of music previously so I feel very comfortable in the booth.
Sometimes you just gotta go with what feels right for you and Mirror Studios is a perfect fit for my podcast with their professional staff and great environment.
How have you promoted your podcast?

Word of mouth has been great about it as well and thanks to everyone who has taken the time to listen to and share the podcast with others. Thank you for giving me time out of your day.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I actually wish that I would have started podcasting sooner.
It is more than passion for me at this point and I am excited to be able to entertain and discuss topics for the world to hear.
Technology has come so far from just television and radio being the only forms of media. Now people have the opportunity to get news and entertainment from different outlets by way of the internet.
I believe that podcasting is the way to go and I love that no one has to listen at a particular time you can listen on demand anywhere anytime.
