Beyond the Mic: Libsyn’s First CrimeCon Was a Deep Dive into the Heart of the True Crime Community

There’s a unique energy that comes from being surrounded by thousands of people who share a passion & curiosity for unraveling mysteries and seeking justice. That energy was noticeable from the moment we stepped onto the show floor at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora for our very first CrimeCon 2025.

For over two decades, our company has been at the forefront of podcasting, supporting shows across every genre. Attending CrimeCon 2025 was more than just a podcasting event; it was an opportunity to connect with the inspiring, empathetic, and engaged community that characterizes the true crime genre. It was truly an incredible experience.

The Heart of True Crime is its Community

If you’ve never been to CrimeCon, it’s difficult to describe. It’s more than just a conference; it’s a gathering of the most dedicated armchair detectives, victim advocates, authors and other creators on the planet. The conversations weren’t just about ‘what happened’, but about ‘how can we help?’ and ‘how can we understand?’ The collective pursuit of truth and justice was truly inspiring, and we felt proud to see many of the podcasts we host at the heart of this important dialogue.

For our team, the highlight was the chance to connect face-to-face with the brilliant voices behind the podcasts we are privileged to host. Putting real faces to the shows we work with every day was unforgettable. We were thrilled to share some incredible moments with:

Moms & Mysteries: It was a delight to chat with these fantastic moms who balance family life with diving deep into the world of true crime.

Dates with Dateline: Their energy is infectious! Discussing their unique (and hilarious) take on everyone’s favorite true crime news magazine show was a true joy.

Criminology: Connecting with this powerhouse team was a masterclass in in-depth, research-driven storytelling. A true standard-bearer in the genre.

Pretty Lies & Alibis: Hearing about their process and connecting over their dedication to telling stories with compassion and detail was fantastic.

And that was just the beginning! We also loved reconnecting with so many other creators from our network, sharing laughs, strategy talks, and a mutual appreciation for the work that goes into every single episode.

The Libsyn Team On The Ground

A huge part of what made this trip so special was having our team on the ground, ready to engage. A massive thank you to:

Rob Walch, VP Creator Development: Who was constantly deep in conversation, offering hosting and growth strategies to creators of all sizes.

Cori Fry, Marketing Events & Content Specialist: Who expertly connected with our partners and creators, strengthening the relationships that help their shows thrive.

Brooke Collins, National Sales, Director: Who was busy discussing the future of monetization with our Libsyn Advertising partners, exploring how to bring more value to the true crime space.

Together, they embodied our mission: to provide the tools and expertise that empower creators to focus on what they do best—telling incredible stories.

Thank You, Denver!

Our first CrimeCon 2025 was an absolute success. We left the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center with more than new leads and partners, but with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to the true crime community.

To every podcaster, listener, and advocate we met during those three incredible days in September: thank you. Thank you for your passion, your stories, and for trusting Libsyn to be a part of your journey.

We powered up for true crime, and we can’t wait to do it again.
