Q & A’s with Kris from The Mouse Scouts

When did you start podcasting?

We officially launched our show, Mouse Scouts, on May 9th of this year.

Why did you start podcasting?

Megan and I are huge Disney fans and Disneyland Annual Pass holders and we’ve really gotten a handle on visiting the Disney Parks with young children, especially Megan who’s taken all three of our kids by herself on more than one occasion.

Bottom line is we wanted to share what we’ve learned with others who are like us and to build an audience for the book that we’re writing.

What’s your show about?

Our show is all about visiting the Disney Parks with young kids.

We put out two episodes per week and offer up tips and share insights from our own experiences.

We mainly focus on Disneyland because that’s where we live, but much of our content can apply to any of the Disney parks.

We also get our four-year-old son behind the mic for fun and super cute conversations on our Friday episodes.

What’s your podcasting set-up?

We both sit on opposite sides of a Blue Microphone Yeti (set on the Bidirectional Mode).

  • JVC HA-RX300 Headphones and a Logitech headphone splitter
  • Early 2011 MacBook Pro
  • GarageBand 10.1.2
  • Auphonic for mastering and equalization
  • WordPress with Sparkling theme by Colorlib.
  • Mail chimp for email marketing

How have you promoted your podcast?

Networking with other Disney Podcasters and being a part of their communities on Facebook and Twitter.

We’ve also been guests on a couple other Disney podcasts which has helped.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

We had no idea it would be so fun doing a show together.

If you’re planning a trip to a Disney park with young kids, oh boy! you’re gonna have to subscribe to this podcast STAT! And goodness gracious they have FREE Disneyland & California Adventure Scavenger Hunts.
