Q & A with Nik from The Nik Ingersoll Show

When did you start podcasting?

The end of June, this year! 2019

Why did you start podcasting?

I’ve derived so much value from podcasts since the early days. Since I’ve grown so much in my young career over that same time period, I felt the fiduciary responsibility to put back some karmic value back into the podcasting ecosystem.

Major thanks to Joe Rogan, Jocko Willink, and Tim Ferriss for the inspiration.

What’s the name of your show and what is it about?

It’s called The Nik Ingersoll Show. It centers around entrepreneurship and my learning lessons from being a multi-time founder of venture-backed multimillion dollar businesses.

However, it’s really just a platform of free expression for me and to help others with insightful guest interviews, how-to’s, answer questions and whatever else I can do to bring maximum value to my listeners.

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.

I am a musician, so I used my music pre-existing studio gear.

Hardware: Macbook Pro, Focusrite Clarett 2 Pre Thunderbolt interface, MXL 4000 microphones, MXL sockmounts, Mogami Gold XLR cables, Blue microphone scissor stands, Sony MDRV6 Digital headphones.

Software: Garageband (with lots of plugins), Mailjet and of course, LIBSYN!

How have you promoted your podcast?

Primarily social media (Twitter and Instagram since I have a decent following there. Also by going on other people’s podcasts and having awesome guests.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

Two things: #1 – The Feed Podcast (no joke) there is so much valuable information on that show & #2 – Start sooner!
