Q & A with Kiana and Pierre from Unapologetically Different
When did you start podcasting?
We started our podcast in February 2017.
Why did you start podcasting?
We started podcasting to have a space for us to create content that adds value to people’s lives.
In addition to discuss topics that we are passionate about. For instance Key is passionate about social injustice issues and politics. Coach P focuses on health and wellness.
What’s the name of your show and what is it about?
Our show is called Unapologetically Different. We discuss social injustice issues, health/well-being, mental health, hot topics in entertainment and more!
We also engage in compelling conversations and interviews with artistic professionals and entrepreneurs to bring their experience, expertise and insight to our listeners.
The focus on these conversations is to provide color into who these people are and provide a blue print to success for our listeners.
What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.
We record at a studio which uses a program called Capture and we edit the podcast using Final Cut Pro X. In terms of actual equipment used for recording we are not sure what is the setup at our studio (i.e. mics and soundboard etc.)
How have you promoted your podcast?
We have promoted our podcast organically through social media (i.e. Instagram, Facebook and Twitter), emails, and word of mouth.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
We wish we knew how many resources were available out there but you have to go out there and look for them. For example we live in NYC and we have access to a studio recording space that is essentially free (public access) so that could have saved us from recording in Coach P’s apartment on one mic back in the day!
