Q & A with Erin Smith from The Starter’s Club

When did you start podcasting?

April 2014

Why did you start podcasting?

I absolutely love spending this time with inspiring people. I wanted a place where people could learn the basics of business.

My goal in life is to eliminate any question someone may have around starting a business, so I created a podcast to help answer and inspire. I learn so much in talking to these amazing people, and the fact that I get to share them with others is completely icing on the cake.

What’s your show about?

It’s about providing inspiration and the tools to get your first business started. We break down business fundamentals on Tuesdays, and then offering inspiring stories of entrepreneurs on Friday.

What’s your podcasting set-up? Hardware, software, CMS, etc.

I use Audacity and Soundbooth for editing. I currently have just a Logitech headset/microphone, but am moving over to a sound board set-up. Still learning the tricks to that before it’s official.

How have you promoted your podcast?

Through my social media and my own network.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

That it’s a lot more work than I thought, but so worth it.

If you have a newly founded business OR are considering having a business then you MUST subscribe to The Starter’s Club. How cool would it be to know how to get started? And to have a comity around you to support you?

We would love to support you getting started with your podcast!
